It affects the lives of many individuals, be it as active sportsmen and women or as passive spectators. Its role in our society can not be ignored. Sport is seen as a mirror of our society, and society's problems also manifest themselves in sport. Diversity amongst participants, sometimes reinforced by prejudice, can be reduced our increased, depending on our approach to sport. Everybody should have an equal chance at the start of any competition, regardless of race, religion, gender etc. Disabled people also have the right to participate, and it is our role to make it possible for them to do so. Bearing in mind sport isn't always necessarily a competition, it can be just a game where we meet each other. Since we would like to find out how pupils regard the issue of diversity/equality on their playgrounds, we have prepared this competition, to creatively express their attitude towards the topic considered (race, religion, disabled, handicapped, gender prejudices, old/young, better/worse, rich/poor etc.). The work can be presented as a single or combined exhibit that tells a story. To ensure correct interpretation of the work, we ask you to enclose a short text with it. Each piece of art should not exceed 210x300x150mm (roughly an A4 sheet of paper, 15cm thick) in size. |
